Medicare in North Georgia
Coverage for the mountains and foothills
North Georgia stretches from the Northeast Georgia foothills around Gainesville to the Ridge-and-Valley country near Rome and Dalton. Care is anchored by Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Atrium Health Floyd, and Hamilton Medical Center, but specialists can be a drive away in the mountains.
That distance is why many North Georgia retirees take a close look at Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, which can be used with any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare — though the right answer depends on your health and budget. We compare it against the local Advantage options with you.

When you can enroll
Turning 65? Your Initial Enrollment Period is the 7 months around your birthday. Already on Medicare? The Annual Election Period is Oct 15–Dec 7, and Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment runs Jan 1–Mar 31.
Yes. We help Medicare beneficiaries across North Georgia by phone, video, and in-person where practical — from the larger cities to the smaller towns in between.
Is Medicare Advantage or Medigap better in a rural area?
Neither is automatically better. In areas with fewer in-network specialists, a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan that lets you see any provider who accepts Medicare can be worth a closer look — but it depends on your health, budget, and the plans offered where you live. We walk through both with you.
How much does your help cost?
Nothing. Independent agents are paid by the carriers when you enroll, so comparing plans and reviewing your coverage each year is free to you.
